WANADA and its members have a long tradition of giving back
Through the Community Support Foundation, WANADA has supported organizations like the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP), and the Greater Washington Soap Box Derby – alongside a growing list of community initiatives.
WANADA has cooperated for many years with the Metropolitan Washington Better Business Bureau and various consumer protection agencies on programs to educate consumers on the vehicle purchase process and the need for automotive repairs/service, and safe vehicle operation.
Franchised new-car dealerships offer dynamic career paths in sales, finance, service, parts, accounting, IT, and management. From hands-on technical roles to executive-level positions, opportunities are in high demand across every department.
WANADA works with area police departments to stop car theft and fraud and apprehend criminals. Correspondingly, WANADA has cooperated with police on public education programs regarding car theft.
WANADA has worked with the Better Business Bureau and consumer protection agencies on developing and implementing fair automotive advertising practices within the dealer community. WANADA additionally has worked to mediate consumer disagreements and disputes with its auto dealer membership and was one of the founders of the Automotive Consumer Action Program which operated in the Washington area and across the US in the 1980s and 90s.
In cooperation with local and national safety efforts, WANADA launched Child Safety Stops, the nation’s first community-wide, dealer-based child safety seat fitting program to educate parents and protect children. (Link to Child Safety Seat Program at Fitzgerald Auto Malls)
Washington area new car dealers co-founded and have sponsored and promoted the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP) and its well-publicized and life-saving SoberRide holiday campaigns since 1982.
